So, you think you know me?
She’s loved and she’s lost.
She’s been ‘through it’.
Every time life’s beaten her down,
she’s picked herself up.
She’s been betrayed, rejected, and,
fended for herself most of her life.
She’s fought battles one would never know.
But, it hasn’t changed the way she ‘loves’.
She loves hard, and,
she loves unconditionally.
Every pain, every heartache, every setback,
every ‘hard time’, has made her stronger.
She is humble, she is beautiful, and,
she knows her worth.
She’s confident and she’s independent.
She smiles in the face of fear, and,
she holds her head high.
She walks with style, and,
she smiles proudly.
She’s got attitude, but,
she’s, also, got respect.
She carries herself well, and,
has intelligence, and, class.
She puts others before herself, and,
has been taken for granted.
She has a heart like no other, and,
she’s loyal as can be.
She values her worth, and
knows what she deserves.
Each pain, and, heartache strengthened
her ‘already existent’ confidence.
Ohhh, she’s a fighter!
She can’t, and, won’t, be broken...
she simply won’t allow it.
Respect?...Yes, you better believe
she deserves it.
Tears?...No, she’ll forget she knew you.
She’s not mean or cold...
don’t get her wrong.
She’s just a girl...
protective of her heart.
She’s waiting for the one who’s
gonna show her he’s ‘different’...
So she can show him, that she’s not...
‘just the same’.
